Terms of Service

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before booking or using any services provided by The Tint Guys YEG. By requesting a quote or proceeding with installation, you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

The Tint Guys YEG is a residential window tinting company operating in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We install dual reflective architectural window film on residential properties throughout the greater Edmonton area.

2. Services

Our services include free in-home consultations, supply of ASWF Reflection Series dual reflective window film, and professional installation at your property. The specific scope, film type, and pricing will be confirmed in a written quote provided prior to any work commencing.

We reserve the right to decline any job we determine is unsuitable for our products or processes, including windows we assess as too damaged, improperly installed, or otherwise incompatible with our film.

3. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Quoted prices are fixed — the price in your written quote is the price you pay, provided the scope of work does not change. Any changes to scope (additional windows, film upgrades, etc.) will be communicated and agreed upon before work begins.

A minimum job fee may apply for small or single-window jobs. This will be clearly stated in your quote.

4. Booking and Scheduling

Installation appointments are scheduled following quote acceptance. We will confirm a date and time window with you directly. We ask that windows be accessible and the surrounding area clear of furniture or obstacles on the day of installation. If we are unable to access the agreed windows due to conditions outside our control, a rebooking fee may apply.

5. Payment

Payment terms will be outlined in your quote. Payment is due upon completion of the installation unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing. We accept e-transfer and major credit cards. Late payments may be subject to a 2% monthly interest charge.

6. Film Curing and Care

Freshly installed film requires a curing period of approximately 30 days. During this time, you may notice small water bubbles or haziness — this is normal and will resolve as the adhesive fully bonds. Do not attempt to clean or disturb the film during the curing period. We will provide care instructions at the time of installation.

7. Warranty

ASWF Reflection Series film carries a manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The specific warranty terms depend on the film selected and will be provided to you at the time of installation. Our labour warranty covers defects in installation workmanship for 1 year from the date of completion.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by improper cleaning, physical damage, modifications by third parties, or pre-existing defects in the windows themselves.

8. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring our team has safe, unobstructed access to all windows included in the quote.
  • Disclosing any known defects or special conditions affecting your windows prior to installation.
  • Following post-installation care instructions provided by our team.
  • Ensuring windows are not cleaned or tampered with during the 30-day curing period.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law, The Tint Guys YEG's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the total amount paid for the specific installation giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in windows, seals, or frames that are discovered during or after installation. If we identify a concern prior to installation, we will communicate it to you before proceeding.

10. Cancellations

You may cancel or reschedule a booked installation with at least 48 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover scheduling and preparation costs.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
